First and foremost we offer a comprehensive Canyons experience stopping at Cerocahui and Posada Barrancas between the end points of El Fuerte and Chihuahua. At Cerocahui we enjoy a tour to outstanding vistas of the largest of the Copper Canyons at its deepest and widest point. Not to overlook starting and ending in El Paso makes for convenient airline connections.

Although we offer other distinctive destinations, the Copper Canyon remains the cornerstone of our company. Likewise the Copper Canyons act as the centerpiece for Northern Mexico's natural wonders. Located in a portion of the Sierra Madres known as the Sierra Tarahumara, the Canyons are found in the state of Chihuahua and borders Sinaloa. This massive canyon system is the largest in the world, attracting people from all over to view its splendor.

The Canyons...
Home to approximately 50,000 Tarahumara or as they call themselves "Raramuri", they live and migrate in these canyons and surrounding mountains. Many of these people have, by choice, retained a way of life that has changed little from the time before the arrival of the Europeans. The Copper Canyons, or Las Barrancas del Cobre in Spanish, is a general term referring to a network of five major canyons whose rivers converge to form the Rio El Fuerte. The Barranca del Cobre or the Copper Canyon is one of the five. Many people also include two other major canyons found nearby in these mountains, that were formed by the same volcanic events. All in all this geologic marvel and its people leaves many of its visitors awed in splendor and with memories for a lifetime. Of course the only way to travel through this area is on the scenic ride of the famous Copper Canyon train, the Chepe.
Chepe Ticketing...
Native Trails can reserve your tickets for the Copper Canyon Train. Described as North America's most scenic train ride, the Chepe offers first class passage through this rugged land. The only thing that rivals the beauty of the Copper Canyons in attracting visitors is the fun of travelling on this memorable train.
Baja Ferries...
Speaking of memorable travel, Native Trails can reserve your Baja Ferries arrangements, a first class ferry connecting the Copper Canyons to the wonders of Baja. The six hour crossing between Topolobampo and La Paz passes quickly with comfortable seating, delicious meals and a good selection of beverages to select from. And if your travel is overnight, for a little more (and well worth it) enjoy the passage in your private cabin with sleeping accommodations for one to four persons. Cabins include private bath and climate control, your ferry passage seems more like a cruise than a short jump across the Sea of Cortez. Visit our Baja Ferries page for schedule and rates.
Baja California...
What better way to end or begin a Copper Canyon adventure than by relaxing on the beach by the calm waters of the Sea of Cortez. Just a short flight from Los Mochis or charming ferry ride from Topolobampo, to Baja California Sur and its capital, La Paz. Here spend some quiet time relaxing or take in some of the many activities both land and sea.
From whale watching (Jan - Mar) to trekking through the mountains to view the UNESCO protected cave paintings or just enjoying the contrast of land and sea, Baja has much to enjoy.
Optional add-on programs allow you to extend your travel from 2 to 9 days. From just a couple of extra nights to enjoy the beach or taking in other interesting sites to visiting more of Mexico and its colorful culture, Native Trails can help make your special vacation happen.
