Real de Minas de Acanasaina
Not too long ago, within the last twenty years, the only way to reach Batopilas was by foot or mule. Now a narrow road, cut from the side of the canyon, winds its way down to Batopilas. Since then this town, with a colorful history, has drawn visitors from all over the world.
The small hotel, Real de Minas, is located in the center of town between the two plazas. Six rooms with private baths are built around a small courtyard. Here guests lounge, reading a book or just relaxing to the sound of cascading water from the small fountain in the center of the enclosed courtyard. Though colonial in appearence, the thick walled building is only a little over 100 years old dating from Batopilas' silver boom days.
